Oh well.. good things just keep coming. Over at "Kevin & Isabel":http://www.whatistheshape.com/archives/000300.html, I was reminded the subway ( "Bangkok Metro":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/ ) is opening tomorrow!

Looking at the "routemap":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/routemap.htm , there're so many places I'll be visiting more because of it:
* "my house":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/sukmap.htm — the new station means a shorter walk. May be mom would use it more now :)
* "สวนลุม night bazaar":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/lummap.htm — for that urge to night wander
* "สวนลุม itself":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/silmap.htm — morning jog? hey, a man can dream eh?
* "ศูนย์ประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/sirmap.htm
* "เซ็นทรัล ลาดพร้าว":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/phamap.htm
* "จตุจักร":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/chamap.htm — ok the old BTS gets me there too, I know.
* "ตลาด อ.ต.ก.":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/kammap.htm — but it doesn't get me here : )

Overall, I think the system is more modern than "BTS":http://www.bts.co.th/ , and really similar to the MRT here in Singapore. It uses "tokens":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/ticket.htm & stored-value cards, which you "tap":http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/useticket.htm ,instead of insert, into the gates. Finally my wish came true!

If only they interoperate with BTS!
