James Seng on Software Patents

[textile]

and ICANN.

James’s “review of the software patent situation”:http://james.seng.cc/archives/2004/10/18/software_patents.html is refreshing to read. I have heard about it all year but never really get the whole picture. I wonder if US software patent will be as sought-after as the usual patent, or would the european counterpart has greater impact. Is there anti-software-patent movement in the US?

Anyway, the bit about Microsoft is scary!

He also said something about the “current state of ICANN.”:http://james.seng.cc/archives/2004/10/12/problems_with_icann.html I have heard many ICANN discussion in the last few days, may be since words spread that “Joi Ito has joined”:http://joi.ito.com/archives/2004/10/12/why_icann.html them.
