วันนี้เห็นมีคนพูดถึงวีดีโอคุณอภิสิทธิ์ส่งมอบงานบริหารประเทศไทยกันเยอะ โดยเฉพาะส่วนการรายงานฐานะการเงินของประเทศ ตั้งแต่เงินสำรองระหว่างประเทศ เงินคงคลัง ไปถึงหนี้สาธารณะต่อรายได้ประชาชาติ ซึ่งเป็นตัวเลขที่ผมมีความสงสัย

ผมได้ยินเกี่ยวกับ MapJack มาหลายอาทิตย์แล้ว แต่ก็ยังไม่ได้ลองใช้ เพราะคิดว่าคงเป็นแค่คู่แข่งของ Google Map Street View อีกรายนึง ซึ่งช่วงนี้ก็มีเกิดขึ้นหลายเจ้า เช่น Eveyscape หรือเจ้าใหญ่อย่าง Microsoft (Virtual Earth Live) กับ Amazon (A9 Map เป็นรายแรก แต่ปิดไปแล้ว) ก็เคยลงมาเล่น ผมเคยคิดว่าแผนที่ที่มีภาพถนนนี่คงได้แข่งกันที่ coverage ว่าใครจะทำครอบคลุมอเมริกาก่อน แต่ MapJack นี่มาแปลก นอกจาก San Francisco กับ Sausalito แล้ว มีเชียงใหม่ด้วย
เชียงใหม่เป็นเมืองที่มีเสน่ห์ นักท่องเที่ยวจำได้เยอะ การที่มี coverage ที่นี่ด้วยทำให้คนพูดถึงใน blogosphere กันมากทีเดียว ถึงแม้จะไม่ได้มีข่าวได้ funding ก้อนใหญ่เหมือน Everyscape
นอกจากนี้ MapJack ก็มีข้อดีหลายอย่างที่คนชมกันด้วย เช่น

January to March is a good period for hiring managers in Thailand. It's time for campus inverview, career fairs, and many fresh graduates to fill in the void after a quiet 2nd half of previous year. In my career, I have made many of the best hires during this golden quarter. But even in these buzzing months, a lot of peoples still come to interviews so unprepared, uninsipred, and aimless. * เป็นเนื้อหาแปล แต่ก็แปลได้ดีถึงดีมาก
กลับมานั่งอ่านจริง ถึงได้เห็นว่าเป็นฉบับปฐมฤกษ์นะเนี่ย นึกว่ามีมาซักพักแล้วแต่เราไม่เห็นซะอีก ดูจากวิธีการเรียกฉบับ "สิงหาคม 2550" แล้วคิดว่าคงจะทำเป็นรายเดือนแทนที่จะเป็นรายอาทิตย์ สาเหตุนึงคงเป็นเรื่องการรักษาคุณภาพการแปล ซึ่งผมว่าก็ไม่ได้แย่มาก เพราะเนื้อหาส่วนใหญ่ไม่ "เก่า" เร็วนัก เพราะเป็นการวิเคราะห์มากกว่ารายงานข่าว ฉบับนี้บทความแปลมาจากฉบับต้นเดือนกรกฎาของฉบับนานาชาติ ถึงจะเป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับ web culture เยอะ ผมก็รู้สึกว่ามันยังทันอยู่

The Nation reports the Government Saving Bank (GSB) is preparing its first issue of what will be Thailand's first mortgage-backed securites (MBS).This has several implications:
